The Beginning
There are companies that begin with a business plan, and then there are companies that begin somewhere between an exit ramp and a long stretch of interstate — the kind of drive where your mind finally outruns the meeting you just left.
Trek Advancement began there.
I had been working inside Kentucky’s two largest universities — first the University of Kentucky, and by then the University of Louisville — with the good fortune (and occasional exhaustion) of collaborating alongside some of the most prominent consulting firms in the country. They were smart people, experienced people, and yet the pattern was predictable: interviews conducted, binders assembled, recommendations delivered… and then they were gone.
